“Praying for healing, and planning for the unknown”.
Hi, my name is Jacquie and I’m a mom of two, and a grandmother of eight. In the past 25 years of my life I have been through several health concerns. However, by God’s grace I prevailed, but it was not always easy.
After being diagnosed with Meniere’s Disease in 1991, I learned to understand a new livelihood, persevered breast cancer, (not once but three times), and, during all this, I was inspired to become a Naturopathic Doctor.
I was an executive in Human Resources for over twenty years at the time of my Meniere’s diagnosis in 1991. By 1995, which was a colossal blow to my climb up the corporate ladder, the many surgeries were failing, leaving me permanently disabled.
In 2005, I was first diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery and chemotherapy. In 2009, I was diagnosed with a secondary primary and in 2016 metastatic Breast cancer. Through my limited knowledge of integrative cancer treatments, I found it difficult to be my own advocate against this horrific disease.
I wanted to go back to college to study natural medicine, refusing to acknowledge my quality of life as the “new normal.’ I broadened my education and knowledge eagerly, eventually receiving a Master of Herbology degree and a PHD in Naturopathic Medicine.
Cancer not only impairs our ability to heal ourselves by conforming to a “new normal,’ but hinders our ability to critically think deeply. It’s in our complete surrender to Christ through His grace that manifest His obedience through our difficulties that allows His light to shine faithfully. Furthermore, a new mindset is built through solace in the Word of God not a “new normal,” in the hardships of my current situation.
From my studies, I have learned that healing is an art, and that the basis of healing is the inherent knowledge that all wisdom comes from Heaven. When we get confused as practitioners and are uncertain of what to do with a client’s medical issue, that’s when the intrinsic awareness becomes apparent.
I was disheartened in August 2020 to learn that the cancer manifested in an incurable aggressive type of Triple Negative Breast Cancer stage IV.
Again, another diagnosis of cancer reminded me that we are all at risk of disease and pain, that we are vulnerable, and that our time is short on earth. These truths sometimes lie at the back of our minds when we are in good health; but when a serious illness strikes, they surge and threaten us.
My passion has been to share my experience and knowledge with my clients. When I teach about nutrition, herbal supplements, or lifestyle changes, I try to keep my clients mindful of the latest healthcare choices. I try to be wise, intuitive, and caring to my clients, particularly children, walking with them all the way to recovery.
I am enthusiastic and passionate about volunteering and working, as well as supporting my community for the past ten years through working at Graceworks Ministries.
The Hope 4 Cancer Treatment Center in Baja, Mexico, provides a full-spectrum treatment program that offers a three-week in-patient program with three months of home care and a complete twelve months of monitoring. The cost for these treatments, as well as travel, will be approximately $150,000.
My 15-year cancer battle, not to mention the Meniere’s Disease medical treatments, has depleted my savings and retirement fund, as you might imagine.
I always make the most of the situation and concentrate on keeping my mind, body and soul as healthy as possible in order to receive more treatments. I am reminded every day that my unwavering faith in God will continue to give me the power I need once again to face this new challenge.
If you wish to support me on this journey, any donation is greatly appreciated, and all the funds raised will go directly to my treatment protocol, travel and living arrangements.
